​​​​​​​Gedo: Beneficiary of closing Tel Koçber crossings is enemy of the Kurds

 At a time when the sit-in activity at the Semalka crossing has continued about 3 months to demand handing over the bodies of the martyrs of Guerilla, and instead of responding to the demands of Rojava and northern and eastern Syria components, forces and parties, the KDP authorities closed the Fish Khabur / Semalka and Al Walid crossings.

 The Rojava administration  confirmed through a press conference on the 19th of this December that the Kurdistan Democratic Party closed the crossing under the pretext of the sit-in tent set up by the families of the martyrs since October 5 to demand the bodies of male and female fighters who were ambushed by the mercenaries of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in August 28.

 The Secretary of the Democratic Left Party in Syria, Saleh Gedo, in a statement to our agency, saluted the resistance of the mothers of the martyrs and the sit-in campers, and said: "We join our voice with the voices of the mothers who demand the handing over of the bodies of their children. This is a natural right, and the Kurdistan Regional Government had to implement their demands from the beginning."

He explained: "According to customs and traditions of the Kurdish people, it is not permissible to keep the bodies of martyrs."  He noted the actions of the Kurdistan Democratic Party worry the general Kurdish people.

 'Closing the crossing is inappropriate'

He touched on the recent policies of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, especially after the closure of the Fish-Khabur and Al-Walid crossings, and said: "The closure of the Semalka crossing by the KRG is an inappropriate behavior. The disputes should have been resolved through dialogue."

He stressed that the areas of Rojava are besieged from all sides, and said: "We are surrounded by a valley of wolves, and all crossings are closed, and all countries use a policy of threat, especially the Turkish occupation countries."

 He indicated that the Semalka/Fish Khabur crossing is an outlet for the sake of the people, and that it must be opened soon, and said: "I am certain that everyone who enjoys the Kurdish spirit does not close the crossings."

 'These actions affect the Kurdish relations and serve the enemy of the Kurds'

He stressed that the KDP's actions serve the enemy of the Kurdish people in the first place, and these actions affect the Kurdish relations, and said: "At a time when the Kurdish people are exposed to attacks and threats from the enemy, we must discuss how to preserve the protection of the dignity of our people, and resolve existing differences through  dialogue".

Gedo noted that closing the crossings is a behavior that does not serve the people in Rojava or in Başûr, and said: "The beneficiary side is the enemy, and it must publicly, as Kurds, block the way for our enemy."

Gedo explained that the crossing is a humanitarian crossing, and a crossing of a national and Kurdish character because it connects two Kurdish parts, and stated: "We must protect this character."
