Closing Tal Kojer crossing causes humanitarian disaster for NES's displaceds

 The Tel Koçer crossing was closed in June of this year after a Russian-Chinese veto on the entry of humanitarian aid into northern and eastern Syria through this crossing. Russia did not object to the entry of aid to the areas occupied by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries through the Bab al-Hawa crossing, with the aim of subjugating the Autonomous Administration to the Damascus government.

In northeast Syria houses more than a million displaced and refugees who do not receive humanitarian aid provided by the United Nations and relief organizations except through the Damascus government, which confiscates that aid and sends only a small part of it to the region.

 On this issue, Noura Al-Hamid, the deputy co-chair of the Executive Council in Manbij, said, "The closure of the Tel Koçer / Al Yarubiyah crossing with a Russian-Chinese veto constitutes a humanitarian catastrophe for the NES peoples."

 She pointed out that "with Turkey's occupation of some areas in north and east Syria and the displacing its people, the number of displaced persons in the camps has increased, who need urgent humanitarian assistance."

 She added, "The closure of the crossing serves special agendas to support the Syrian government areas and the areas occupied by Turkey and to besiege northern and eastern Syria."

 Noura Al-Hamid pointed out that northern and eastern Syria are part of Syria, and have been affected by the economic crisis that passed through the country as a result of the sanctions imposed on Syria, which led to a worsening of the economic situation in these areas, and the Autonomous Administration took its measures, but all these measures faced difficulty due to the disparity  Between the exchange rate of the dollar against the Syrian pound.

 The Vice-President of the Joint Executive Council in Manbij appealed to the United Nations organizations and human rights to pressure the active countries to open the crossing to deliver humanitarian aid to the NES peoples.

 Russia and China used their veto for the third time, on July 10, 2021, during the Security Council session to prevent the entry of aid through the Tel Kujar / Al Yarubiyah crossing, despite the Autonomous Administration’s repeated warnings of the consequences of this decision, describing it as political and serving the agendas of the Turkish occupation state and the government of  Damascus.
