​​​​​​​AANES hands over 3 ISIS children who holds British nationality

On Monday evening, British delegation headed by the British Special Envoy to Syria Jonathan Hargreves arrived on a visit to north and east Syria to discuss the latest developments in the region.

The delegation was received by: the co-chair of the Department of Foreign Relations, Abdul Karim Omar, the director of the crossings in the Autonomous Administration, Khabat Mohammad, and the representative of YPJ Relations, Zozan Anas.

The two sides discussed several files, the most important of which were the situation of the IDPs and the recent threats of the Turkish occupation of the regions of north and east Syria.

During the visit, Omar stressed the need for all components of the Syrian people to participate in resolving the crisis, "the start of the political process is necessary for the region with the participation of representatives of the Autonomous Administration and all components of the Syrian people to resolve the Syrian crisis, in accordance with international resolutions, especially Resolution 2,254."

The United Nations Security Council Resolution 2,254, adopted unanimously on December 18^th, 2015, concerns a ceasefire and a political settlement of the situation in Syria.

Omar explained, "The Turkish threats are still continuing against the people of NE, Syria, and the main goal is to destabilize the security and stability of the region, and that this contributes to the return of ISIS mercenaries to their ranks again within the region."

Omar also touched upon the conditions of the camps of ISIS families, saying: "We have hundreds of children in the camps who need rehabilitation, adding that the establishment of the Horri Center for the Protection and Education of Children was a successful experience, and we are in the process of establishing 15 other centers to rehabilitate and train ISIS children."

In his turn, the British envoy, Jonathan Hargreves, stressed the need to work to find lasting peace in Syria, saying: “Working to find a political solution to the crisis throughout Syria in accordance with Resolution 2,254 is the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in Syria.” He added, “Daesh’s military, financial and practical capabilities It has reduced thanks to the efforts made, but it still poses a real danger in Syria, Iraq and everywhere, so the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS is committed to eliminating it permanently, and this impressive work would not have happened without the sacrifices made by many Syrians.

And he stated, "The Global Coalition, including the United Kingdom, supports stability in the liberated areas in Syria to help communities recover from the brutality of life under the rule of ISIS mercenaries," and he continued, "We will continue to support the region, and the Syrian Democratic Forces will remain main ally for us in the fight against ISIS, and we guarantee the victims of ISIS." We will bring the perpetrators of crimes to justice."

At the end of the meeting, the Department of Foreign Relations in North and East Syria handed over 3 ISIS children of British nationality to the British delegation. After the delivery, the two parties signed the handover documents and completed the rest of the protocols.
