Siba Sheikh Khider and Tal Izer victims remembered

People in Shengal remembered victims of the Siba Sheikh Khider and Tal Izer massacre that was committed in 2007.

SHENGAL

In August 14, 2007, booby trapped lorries exploded in the two Yazidi villages of Siba Sheikh Khider and Tal Izer that cost lives of at least 400 people and injured many others.

In memory of martyrs a ceremony was held yesterday in the village of Tal Izer in which a military parade was displayed by Shengal Resistance Units as well Women Units.

According to Marwan Khudida '' the massacre was in line with a broader and well devised plot to annihilate Yazidis''.

Khudida told ANHA that the ruling authority in Shengal was in advance informed of the bombings, '' they themselves told people that an explosion is going to happen and lorries passed through checkpoints of PDK forces without screening or inspections''. Khidida said that PDK is accountable for both August 3 and August 14 massacres.

From part, Qahtan Khalil member of the Autonomous Administration in Shengal said '' we consider what happened also a firman against the Yazidi community''. Qahtan said military forces that are present now in Shengal are the sole guarantee to deterring massacres''.

Worth to note that then the two villages were under PDK and Iraqi forces and lorries passed through PDK points with no security inspection.
