Zelal Jigar: If infighting happened, Rojava people would not be silent

Zelal Jigar confirmed that the people in Rojava would not remain silent in the event of internal fighting, in the first comment after a statement issued by the People's Defense Forces (HPG), in which they stated that a number of their fighters were martyred in an attack by the Kurdistan Democratic Party Forces (PDK).

HPG clarified, through a statement to the public opinion, on July 29, that communication with a group of its forces had been broken off since July 26, and noted that they had obtained information from the people of the area, stating that the forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party surrounded and attacked the group, which led to the martyrdom of a number of Guerrilla fighters.

Co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement, Zelal Jigar, explained: "This information is painful for us," and she indicated that HPG worked hard and issued several statements, appeals and calls to prevent infighting, and stressed that they do not want to engage into war with the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Zelal Jiger explained that the attempts to create an internal war between the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and PDK are the Turkish occupation state's ploys, and added, "To implement the Lausanne Agreement against the Kurdish people, to disperse their ranks again and to distance the Kurdish people from their identity and culture, Turkey is hatching many ploys, among which is the cooperation between Turkey and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, which is tantamount to reviving the Lausanne Agreement in Kurdistan."

Zelal Jigar stressed the need for the Kurdistan Democratic Party's commanders to clarify the truth of what happened in Khalifan area on the 26^th of July, and said, "The Democratic Party must make it clear what happened there? Are those fighters martyred or what happened to them?"

Turkey follows dirty ways to occupy Kurdistan

Zelal Jiger confirmed that the Turkish occupation state is striving hard to occupy Kurdistan, following dirty ways for that, and its attacks on Başûr Kurdistan (Southern Kurdistan) and its concentration in the Mountains of Kurdistan under the pretext of the People's Defense Forces' presence are incorrect. She explained, "Erdogan and his collaborators are now concluding further conspiracies against the Kurdish people to prevent them from obtaining their legitimate rights in the twenty-first century."

Zelal Jiger noted that Kurds are now engaged in a struggle for their legitimate rights and identity, but the Turkish occupation state, in close cooperation with the Kurdistan Democratic Party, is working to strike the gains that Kurds have achieved and to thwart their struggle.

Zelal Jiger stressed the need for PDK to withdraw its forces that it brought to the legitimate defense zones (Media) under the protection of the People's Defense Forces, and said, "We, the Kurdish people demand PDK to sever all its relations with the Turkish occupation state based on the enmity of the Kurdish cause."

If the Democratic Party is a Kurdish party, it must cut its ties with Turkey

Zelal Jiger noted, "The ruling Justice and Development Party is not the enemy of a Kurdish party, but rather the enemy of the whole Kurdish people, as it continuously launches attacks on north and east Syria and Southern Kurdistan." She said, "The Kurdistan Democratic Party says that it is a Kurdish party. If it is so, it must urgently cut its relations with the Turkish occupation state, and listen to the Kurdish people's voice and demands."

Zelal Jiger indicated that all the Kurdish people in Rojava, Bakur (Northern), Başûr (Southern) and Rojhlat (Eastern) Kurdistan are against PDK's cooperation with the Turkish occupation state, which is fighting the Kurdistan Freedom Movement. She said, "All the Kurdish people stand against the internal war, and everyone knows that any internal fighting will have repercussions on all parts of Kurdistan, and if internal fighting occurs, Rojava people will not remain silent."

Zelal Jiger drew attention to the fact that the incident took place in Khalifan had great repercussions on the Kurdish people because this policy serves the Turkish occupation state. The Kurdistan Democratic Party must clarify the course of the incident if it was a personal act by some of its leadership or by the party's general command.

Stop betrayal

Zelal Jiger stressed the need for the Kurdistan Democratic Party to sit at the dialogue table with the PKK and to solve outstanding problems through dialogue because any internal fighting affects the entire Kurdish people. She said, "The Kurdish cause's victory would be achieved by uniting ranks."

She called on the Kurdish people urgently express a strict stance towards the practices of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and stressed the need for the Kurdistan Democratic Party to withdraw its forces from the areas where the People's Defense Forces are present, and said, "It is time for us to say enough betrayal."
