Women's Council affirms adherence to July 19th Revolution's values

This came during a statement issued by the Women's Council in North and East Syria, in connection with the ninth anniversary of the July 19^th Revolution, of which Hawar news agency received a copy.

Below is the text of the statement:

The July 19^th Revolution, which first erupted from the city of resistance in Kobane in 2012, is a great historic event when the peoples of north and east Syria said their words and charted in their struggle the features of a new future for the north and east of Syria after years of marginalization, exclusion and tyranny by the successive regimes in power in Syria.

The journey of construction and change began at a rapid pace when the three Autonomous Administrations were established according to a social contract based on the principles of brotherhood, coexistence and acceptance of the other among all components of Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, Armenians and Yazidis, after decades of separation and loss of confidence enshrined by the ruling regimes.

Women have been and still have the greatest vanguard role in building and consolidating the model of Democratic Autonomous Administration through their struggle and sacrifices in all fields, and they have been able to achieve great gains and achievements, perhaps the most important of which is standing in the face of terrorist factions and defeating the terrorist organization ISIS which mainly targeted women to break their will and rob their freedom and legitimate rights. In addition, Women's Protection Units (YPJ) have been a symbol of all human values ​​and peace in the world.

The democratic model represented by the Democratic Autonomous Administration posed a real danger to the tyrannical regimes in the region, especially the fascist Turkish state, which quickly, through its deliberate intervention in the depth of the Syrian crisis, invaded and occupied many areas of Syria, especially Afrin, Tal Abyad and Serekaniye, under the pretext of protecting its national security and with historical expansionist intentions and ambitions on the one hand and the abort of the democratic project in north and east Syria on the other.

We in the Women's Council of North and East Syria commemorate this great revolution which was called the Women's Revolution. We congratulate the peoples and components of north and east Syria and we pledge to them to adhere to its authentic values. We also pledge to continue struggling and working to protect and preserve these gains that have been achieved at all military, political, administrative and social levels, and the work to protect and develop the Autonomous Administration and make it a model to be emulated in Syria in general.
