​​​​​​​Avin Sweid: Forum is good step to hold similar events in Başûr, outside Kurdistan

On Thursday in Qamishlo city, the dialogue forum related to the dangers of the Turkish occupation on Kurdistan historically, which is required at the Kurdish level at this stage was held under the auspices of the Kurdistan National Conference - Rojava under the slogan "With National Unity, We to Defeat Occupation, and Block Way to Internal Fighting."

In a meeting with ANHA, Avin Sweid evaluated the forum which was attended by the majority of political parties, youth and women organizations, and clan councils in Rojava.

Evin praised the forum, and expressed her hope that the forum would be a step to move the Kurds' resistance against Turkish attacks and schemes of creating internal fighting to a more advanced stage.

Avin Sweid said, "This forum is a good step to hold similar activities in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) and outside Kurdistan because Rojava, with its people and parties, is known for its position, and there must be similar positions in Southern Kurdistan and abroad to put pressure on the political forces to discourage them from committing historical mistakes and acting responsibly towards this stage."

She added, "The danger threatens all Kurds' gains, and the danger that threatens a Kurdish party at the same time threatens all Kurds."

She stressed, "Everyone knows that the map of the region changes according to the interests of the dominant powers. We talk about Bakur (Northern Kurdistan), Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) and Rojava (Western Kurdistan). There are daily attacks targeting the Kurdish people, their nature and their monuments, and the Kurds' position in the face of these attacks is an honorable position in the four parts of Kurdistan by the military forces and the people, but how can we put an end to these attacks and show a more effective position. This forum unites positions, makes them clearer and escalates them."

On the dangers of a possible infighting among Kurds, Avin Sweid said, "For a full decade of the Rojava Revolution, we faced various kinds of Turkish attacks, but today the Turkish state is pursuing a more profound policy by instigating fighting among Kurds themselves, and this constitutes a great danger to Kurds."

Weeks after the beginning of the Turkish genocide attacks on Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) on the 23^rd of last April, the Kurdistan Democratic Party sent its special forces to the legitimate defense zones, and tried more than once to fabricate facts, claiming that the People's Defense Forces attacked its forces in an effort to prepare the ground for internal fighting in the service of the occupying Turkish state."

Avin Sweid added, "We, Kurds, have to raise our voice in the face of these policies. The enemy does not only kill Kurds, but plans to push them to kill each other and lose all their gains. The people of Rojava are aware of the sensitivity of the situation. Perhaps the attacks affect Southern Kurdistan directly, but they also affect Rojava, Shengal and Makhmour."

Avin Sweid warned that dispersing Kurds would expose them to the risk of extermination, as happened in the last century. "Since the first day of the Turkish attacks on Southern Kurdistan, the people in Rojava had a clear position against these attacks. The presence of representatives of political forces, civil society organizations, youth, women and clan councils is a position that complements the people's position against the Turkish genocidal attacks and the schemes to provoke infighting."

Co-chair of the Center for Diplomatic Studies and Consultation added, "In order not to be a victim of this century, as happened with Armenians and Jews in the last century, Kurds must be the vanguard of free participatory life in the Middle East."

Avin Sweid called on political parties and Kurdish people to restrain the personalities who serve the enemy, "There are figures who serve the enemy, as happened in occupied Afrin. Some who define themselves as politicians say that there are no massacres in Afrin, do not frighten the people and let them return to their homes, despite there are cultural genocide and massacres. These personalities must stop doing that. The political parties must stop these personalities because they only represent their personal and family interests."
