Mazloum Omar: Closing Tal Kocher Border serves foreign agendas

Co-chair of the Executive Council of Tabqa area, Mazloum Omar, said that the continued closure of Tal Kocher Border Crossing serves the agendas of regional states to implement policies against the people of the region. He called on the international community to take firm decision to re-open the crossing for the entry humanitarian aids.

Restrictions and besiege on North and East Syria is increasing day by day, with aiming to foil the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the AANES, and also to deepen the economic and health situation, after closing the borders, which have adversely affected the people of North and East who have defended their territory against ISIS mercenaries who have been able to threaten global security.

The decision of the United Nations Security Council to limit border entry points to one crossing point, Bab al-Hawa, controlled by Turkey gangs, is a negative decision that impinges on the humanitarian and health situation of the entire population and IDPs within AANES' area.

In this regard, Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Civil Administration of Tabqa, Mazloum Omar, stressed the need to open the crossings. "One of the most important of these crossings is Tal Kocher Border Crossing with Iraq for the entry of humanitarian assistance."

"The closure of the Tal Kocher Border Crossing came in order to implement the foreign agendas of some regional states to satisfy them and allow them to carry out the policy of starvation against the people of North and East Syria."

Omar added, "When the international community accepts these decisions, it's a partner fighting the people and the administration of North and East Syria, after the people of the region made numerous sacrifices to free their land from ISIS mercenaries."

Omar points out that "the policy against the people of North and East Syria, particularly the closure of border crossings, is one method of systematic wars involving the Turkish state, as well as its own wars, such as the withholding of water resources from areas of North and East Syria, which has a great effect like the closure of crossings on the area."

He concluded his speech, saying, "we appeal to the international community, in particular the United States of America, Russia and the countries claiming humanity, to press the Security Council to re-open the Tal Kocher Crossing and all crossings so that the humanitarian and economic situation could return to its proper condition."
