SDF: Baghouz Victory corollary to 7 years of battles

The SDF has indicated that the victory attended was the result of seven years of battles, laying stress that the sacrifices made revived life and that '' after the region was occupied by the Turkish Occupation Army terrorists became more active in the area that reveals the close relationship between Turkey and terrorists affirming that ISIS is still present.

This came in a statement released today by the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the SDF, marking the second annual anniversary of the Baghouz liberation the last of the ISIS bastions in Syria, that marked the geographical elimination of the ISIS.

The statement of the SDF that was read by the Shadadi Military Council Commander Sayil al-Zoba', as follows:

''Today marks the second annual anniversary of the Baghouz liberation that ended the military control of the ISIS terrorists the last spot in North Eastern Syria, after our forces liberated on March 23^RD, 2019 the Bahgouz region in eastern Deir Ezzor.

The victory attained by the SDF against this terrorist organization was a result of long battles that lasted for 7 years, commenced from Kobane at the hands of YPG and YPJ fighters that were crucial in the fight against ISIS up to Manbij, Tabqa, Raqqa to be finally enthroned at Baghouz after both western and northern countryside were liberated.

Based on the people heritage aspiring for freedom and democracy to release our Syrian people from the ISIS clutches, the SDF spared no effort, and they sacrificed dearly on the course of seven years in which thousands of our fighters made themselves candles to lit the dark tunnel, and to eliminate the darkness the prevailed for years.

In the actual reality, though the last of the ISIS terrorists bastions in North Eastern Syria was conquered, nevertheless that does not signify it's collapse, due to the extremist ideology survived by the organization in the region and neighboring countries that was made clear in the attacks that target the region not to mention our fighters, as well as officials in the Autonomous Administration and tribal and societal figures.

The moves by the terrorists were increased in the region after Sere Kaniye and Gire Spi/ Tal Abyad were occupied that clearly defines the close relationship that links Turkey with the terrorists in the region, as all these areas became quagmires for the terrorists and a path to the mercenaries into the country and exporting terrorists to Libya, Azerbaijan, Yemen and the world at large.

the ISIS danger is being posed in the thousands of detainees, in addition to thouisands of families in the al-Hol and Roj camps, that are inculcated with the ISIS radical ideology to which the international community have not moved a finger, in spite of all calls made by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria for international tribunals in the region or repatriation by countries of their citizens.

Since Baghouz was liberated operations by the SDF in pursuit of the remainders of the ISIS cells in North Eastern Syria are ongoing, working side by side with the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS to bring security and stability to the region, and to deter ISIS resurgence.

We notify our people and the world at large that this phase is a critical one in the fight against terror and more dangerous than the fight against ISIS, that all entail discharging all efforts exerted between societal classes and military forces into the interior affairs.

Regional and international countries ought to bear responsibility in the ISIS detainees issue, and their families and to pressure the involved countries to expatriate their subjects and to support the region in the fight against the radical ISIS ideology, via the Autonomous Administration in security, politics, economics and reconstruction, the region whose people stood up to ISIS on behalf of the world at large as invincible armies did not dare.

The SDF fighters, both males and females, we confirm to our people that we are on the way of our comrade martyrs in giving protection to the region and defending territories, and preserving societal values, and all gains made by all classes and religions under the Autonomous Administration, that is the ideal model to the Syrian Crisis that gives guarantee to the Syrian components to live peacefully, and attain freedom and democracy to the Syrian people on one Syrian soil, that delivers the Syrian people onto the shore of a decentralized, democratic and plural system.

We assure the international community most notably peoples inflicted with the ISIS terror that we know their pains, and we take the side of the countries facing ISIS, as well as perseverance to pursue ISIS anywhere and to liberate the Syrian territories from occupation''.
