Biden: We will not hesitate to protect US and its allies

US President Joe Biden announced in his first speech from the Pentagon yesterday the formation of a task force in the Ministry of Defense in charge of the file of China, and ordered to start immediately a review of the military strategic approach to the risks posed by Beijing, and that his administration will not hesitate to use force to protect the United States and its allies.

In addition, Biden gave the new task force four months to provide its assessment, in order to define a strong path forward on issues related to China, which will require effort at the management level collectively.

Biden added that China and related issues will require government agencies to work together, along with non-partisan support in Congress and strong alliances.

"This is how we're going to deal with the challenge of China," Biden, along with Vice President Kamala Harris, and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said.

The dispute between the two countries rages on several issues, such as technology, human rights, and Chinese military activities in the disputed South China Sea region, as the two countries exchange accusations of deliberately pursuing provocative behavior, while the US Defense Department, during Trump's rule, made containing China a top priority, and it is a policy Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin hinted will continue.
