Darwish: Occupation Army attempts at confounding war fronts

Despite the presence of international guarantors of the ceasefire in northeast Syria, the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries of what is the so-called the "Syrian National Army" are continuing from the western countryside of Zargan district, to Ain Issa, Manbij, and ending with the Al-Shahba Canton.

In conjunction with the non-stop attacks on the town of Ain Issa, the mercenaries of the so-called "Syrian National Army" targeted villages on the northern and western sides of the city with heavy weapons.

The villages of Al-Shashahat, Arba’a Kilo, Awn Al-Daddat, Arab Hassan and Umm Addas, in addition to the village of Al-Jat, northeast of Manbij, came under heavy artillery shelling from the Turkish bases in the occupied territories.

The MMC's Media Office confirmed that the targeting came from the Turkish bases in each of the villages of Umm Rutha al-Fawqani, northeast of Manbij, Karatah, north of Manbij.

Commenting on the escalation and mounting attempts of mercenaries to infiltrate the points of the MMC's fighters, the liberated villages, and the recent Turkish targeting operations of the villages located on the western and northern sides of the city of Manbij, the Darwish, told ANHA agency.

Darwish said: "The violations of Turkey linked mercenaries have not stopped along the contact areas with our forces in the northern and western sides of the city, and the Turkish bases and their mercenaries deliberately target populated villages on a daily basis, and provoke our forces on the fronts."

He added: "The last of which, was yesterday, as the heavy bombardment of the Turkish occupation on the villages of the city, which came after the failure of its mercenaries yesterday to infiltrate into the liberated villages and our fighters' positions."

Darwish pointed to the failure of those attempts after their fighters confronted the mercenaries within the right to self-defense, and that they were able to push back the mercenaries on their heels, leaving dead and wounded among them, without adding further details.

Darwish noted that "these targeting attempts have escalated in an effort by the Turkish occupation army to confuse the front lines in coincidence with other attacks on separate areas of northeast Syria, like in Ain Issa and the Al-Shahba areas."

He added, "Manbij Military Council fighters continue to defend their areas within the framework of the legitimate right to defense," noting that the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries will not stop attacking the region, and that they are waiting for the appropriate time to occupy new areas in northeast Syria.
