Head of Democratic Alliance in Al-Raqqa: Turkey is turning occupied territories into colonies

The head of the Syrian Democratic Alliance Party in Raqqa, Yahya Mahmoud, confirmed that the Turkish occupation state is seeking to carve out more of the Syrian regions and make them colonies, in preparation for its annexation, along the lines of Iskenderun.

The Turkish occupation's shelling on northern and eastern Syria continues, as it seeks to carve out more of the Syrian territory, taking advantage of the international silence regarding its crimes.

The intensity of the shelling has increased throughout the last period from one region to another, and along the line between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Turkish army and its mercenaries, and at the same time the mercenary-controlled areas in northern Syria are witnessing the most horrific crimes of killing, extortion, looting and demographic change.

While the practices applied in the areas controlled by its mercenaries, from imposing the Turkish currency and changing the names of landmarks with Turkish ones, indicate that the occupying power considers these areas as affiliated colonies like Iskenderun, turning a blind eye to international conventions and the state’s sovereignty.

In the most recent measure in this direction, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan approved the opening of a Turkish group on the territories it occupies in Syria.

The head of the Syrian National Democratic Alliance Party in al-Raqqa, Yahya Mahmoud, said, "The attacks against the northeastern regions of Syria aim to harm the Syrian people, as those attacks focused on populated areas, which left many displaced people."

He added, "The Turkish occupation is trying to restore the Ottoman Empire, and we have seen its role since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, as it plans to annex the Syrian lands in the manner of the Iskenderun, which is still occupied."

Yahya criticized the American silence, he said "the new American administration is still silent, which gave the Turkish occupier more persistence and escalation in its attacks."

Yahya Mahmoud condemned the Russian role, "The Russians raised the slogan of ending the Syrian crisis and salvation of the Syrian people from their suffering and crisis (as they claimed), but it turned out that they were negotiating and bartering with the Turkish occupier for projects in Syria, which have not yet ended, for example the Russian side handing over Afrin to the Turkish occupier as a barter deal for Eastern Ghouta."

The head of the Democratic Alliance Party in al-Raqqa said, "We in the party are fighting all forms of occupation for any inch of Syrian territory, whatever this occupier is, his description and the slogan he raised to enter our country, and we work for a Syria free of conflicts, and all armed groups that represent foreign and mortgaged agendas and serve their interests."

Yahya Mahmoud pointed out "the Turks do not want good for our country, but rather want to plunder it, and this is what we saw when they entered the regions of Syria, and plundered medical equipment, agricultural crops and monuments, even trees uprooted."

He added, "As for Turkish practices, they do not indicate that Turkey wants good for our country, but rather considers these lands as part of them, and turns them into colonies, so when we see all these practices, in addition to changing the currency, we find that they are occupied and want to carve out these areas, and annex them to them like a general Slaughtered. "

Mahmoud added, "We, the people of North and East Syria, must join hands and make ourselves an impenetrable dam, to get these invaders and occupiers out who want to carve out regions or ensure their dependence on them, and the whole Syrian people must be aware of these plots, and stand in the face of the occupier and his aspirations."

Yahya Mahmoud called on the international community, especially "the countries that have presented themselves as guarantors of the Syrian people, to take an active role in expelling the Turkish occupier from the Syrian lands, based on international decisions."
