5 mercenaries and leader killed in infiltration attempt

The Media Center of the Manbij Military Council (MMC) announced that an infiltration operation by the Turkish mercenaries had been thwarted and 5 mercenaries were killed, including a leader.

The Council's Media Center issued a statement revealing the latest military developments on the Manbij fronts.

The Center said that at 09:30 on Monday morning, a group of Turkish mercenaries tried to infiltrate the councils' positions, but its fighters managed to thwart the attempt, and during the clashes between the two sides, 5 mercenaries were killed.

The council confirmed that among the killed, Mustafa Mahmoud Ibrahim, a commander in the 1st Division, Brigade 111, backed by the Turkish occupation.

And the MC said that after that strike, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries resumed shelling on the Sajour line, starting from the village of Al-Hawsriyah, northeast of Manbij, to the village of Al-Houti in the eastern countryside of Al-Bab, about 62km using mortars, where more than 100 shells fell along the contact lines from morning until evening.

The MC noted that a number of populated villages were also bombed, including “Al-Hawsria, Al-Gat, Umm Adas, Sayyda, Yilanli, Arab Hassan, Al-Kawakli, Al-Buwayj, Al-Houti, Road 4k, and Awn Al-Dadat.”

The MC confirmed that the councils' forces were responding on their own to all of these attacks, while the points of the Damascus government forces did not show any reaction.

The shelling is still continuing periodically to this moment.
