Green Idlib Council's co-chair: There is extortion of honor, money in exchange for aid in Idlib

The Co-chair of the Green Idlib Council in Raqqa, Haitham Hajj Abdullah, affirmed that Turkey and the so-called 'Syrian coalition' are stealing international aid sent to Syrian people, and he pointed out that choosing north-east Syria as a destination for them is due to free living.

About a year ago, when the battles intensified between the Damascus government forces and its allies on the one hand and Turkey's mercenaries on the one hand, thousands of Idlib residents fled the battles to north-east Syria after the Autonomous Administration announced its readiness to shelter those fleeing the battles in Idlib.

The Co-chair of the Green Idlib Council in Raqqa, Haitham Hajj Abdullah, explained that the reason for choosing north-east Syria as a destination for some people from Idlib "is the security, safety and all the requirements for decent living provided in the region, compared to all regions of Syria, for the Autonomous Administration is the region of decent and free living."

Hajj Abdullah added: "We came to north-east Syria with an exceptional humanitarian initiative, according to which Idlib displaced people were allowed to enter the region."

Crimes at large in areas occupied by Turkey

Haitham Hajj Abdullah touched on the mercenaries' crimes and the security situation in Idlib city, saying: "There are many cases of kidnapping and extortion practiced against people in Idlib, such as those carried out by mercenaries, and there are gangs that do this as a result of security chaos, the reason for this is the failure of those responsible for policing the region."

Abdullah pointed out: "We are communicating with our relatives and people we know, who are residing in camps in Idlib, and we call for them to come to north-east Syria, but the fears, risks of crossing and extortion by mercenaries of the so-called "the national army" prevent them from coming."

A tragic situation in Idlib camps

He noted: "It is known that the situation of the camps in Idlib is tragic and pitiful, due to the mercenaries' crimes, and the Syrian coalition theft in cooperation with Turkey of the international aid that is supposed to be provided to Syrian people residing in the camps."

The so-called coalition steals aid sent to the Syrians

The co-chair of the Green Idlib Council said: "The members of "the coalition" and Turkey share international humanitarian aid, and this was evident in the secret bank accounts revealed by some media outlets, as the accounts of some members of the so-called "coalition" reached astronomical numbers, and all of that as a result stealing the aid sent to Syrian people."

He explained: "In comparison between the situation in the camps in Idlib and the camps in north-east Syria, there is a wide and clear difference in terms of security and safety, as you find in Idlib camps extortion of honor and money in exchange for aid."

Hundreds of camps are distributed in Idlib city, and their residents are exposed to poor humanitarian conditions as a result of natural factors, the lack of aid and job opportunities that are almost non-existent due to the blockade and the crimes committed against people by the occupation state and its mercenaries.
