US is witnessing locks down before two days of inauguration 

American officials reported that extensive checks included National Guard forces deployed in Washington DC, with investigations reaching the involvement of a number of officers and security personnel and their collusion with the demonstrators who stormed the corridors of the Capitol building on January 6, two days before the inauguration of US President-elect Joe Biden.

Military officials told the "Associated Press" that all elements will be scrutinized, fearing an internal attack during Biden's inauguration.

In his turn, Defense Secretary Ryan McCarthy confirmed to the agency on Sunday evening that officials are aware of the potential threats, adding that he warned commanders that they should be informed of any problems within their teams as the inauguration date approaches.

However, he said at the same time: "So far, there is no evidence of any threats."

In addition, McCarthy explained, after training that lasted 3 hours to review the protection measures in the vicinity of the Capitol, and said, "We take a second and third look at each of the individuals assigned to this process."

He added that National Guard members are also receiving training on how to identify potential internal threats.

McCarthy announced last week that at least 25 domestic terrorism cases had been opened as a result of the Congressional attack.

Washington Post reported yesterday that at least 29 current and former officers participated in the demonstrations in front of the Capitol Building on January 6th.

And also added that 13 officers were under investigation for possible participation in the riots that shook Washington and shocked the Americans on the sixth of this month, killing 5 and wounding dozens, in addition to 10 other officers belonging to the Congressional police who helped some of the demonstrators in storming operation.
