The Administration was established since 2014 from multi-ethnic components of northeast Syria. It managed to protect its people from genocide, and preserve the values and rights of all components through its alternative democratic system to the unilateral system.

The AA's tireless work, paved the way for opening 8 representations in European countries so far, namely Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belarus, and in Arab countries in Lebanon, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt.

Despite this, the AA’s formal participation in the meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee is still overlooked, not only by foreign countries, but by the Hewlêr government, which should have been its main supporter.

The co-chair of the Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party (KDPP) Talal Muhammad, referred to the reasons for not recognizing the Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (AANES). "Some parties do not want to solve the Syrian crisis, especially the Ba'athist regime, and some regional forces, such as Turkey, Iran and Russia; as their interests are linked to the existence of the Syrian government, not to democratic change and the AANES project."

The KDP does not deal with the Autonomous Administration

Regarding the position of the KDP on the Autonomous Administration, which supposed to open representation in KDP-controlled Hewlêr, the capital instead of Sulaymaniyah, Muhammad noted that the KDP does not recognize the AANES because it has interests with some regional powers, which oppose the Autonomous Administration project.

Muhammad continued his speech that: “AANES's representatives in many countries is recognition of it, even if it is not official.”

AANES must be recognized

Muhammad called on all political parties to intensify their efforts to recognize the Autonomous Administration and said: "If the Autonomous Administration project was applied to Syria, the crisis would not have reached this stage now."

In the conclusion of his speech, the co-chair of the Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party called on the Kurdish political parties and forces to support the Autonomous Administration project and leave their partisan interests aside, and said: “Because the success of the Autonomous Administration project is considered a success for the Kurdish gains, and thus the crisis in Syria will be resolved.”
