Erdogan's son-in-law resigns as finance minister

The Turkish Minister of Finance and Treasury and the son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Birat Albayrak, announced Sunday, his resignation from his post.

Al-Bayrak said on Instagram: "following 5 years of work, I have decided not to continue my activities as president for reasons connected to my health condition."

His period of performing his duties, who is the son-in-law of Erdogan, timed with a severe economic crisis that hit Turkey, which saw its national currency plummet nearly 4 times against the US dollar.
