This came during an interview held by our agency with a member of the Presidential Body of the Kurdistan Society Freedom Movement, Nariman Ahmed, about the recent moves and plans taking place in Başûr (South Kurdistan) which became a clear message for the Turkish state to reach its goal of creating a Kurdish-Kurdish conflict.

Nariman said that what affects Başûr Kurdistan is the Kurdistan Democratic Party's (KDP) close relationship with Turkey, and Turkey’s endeavor to eliminate the achievements made by the Kurdish people in recent years, through which it has reached a strategic rank among global politics.

"Turkey is trying to eliminate the Kurds at the hands of the Kurds"

Ahmed added: "Unfortunately, Turkey is trying to eliminate these achievements by the Kurds themselves. In Başûr Kurdistan, there are intelligence, military and economic relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and these relations are used by Turkey to eliminate what the Kurds have achieved and cover its military failure in its occupation of Syria and other Arab countries."

Ahmed attributes Turkey's recent moves to its failure inside Turkey, so it wants to cover that by causing fighting and war among the Kurds at the expense of the Kurdish people in Başûr Kurdistan.

Ahmed expressed his dissatisfaction with Başûr Kurdistan experiencing great crises, especially the attempts being made to bring about a war between the Guerrilla and Peshmerga forces, which the people in Başûr reject, considering it a destructive war.

Nariman Ahmed believes that the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is living under the pressure and threat of the Turkish state in its war with Guerrilla, as Turkey asked it to fight PKK, otherwise the Başûr government will be a target for Turkey. He added: "Başûr Kurdistan is witnessing a great crisis at the political, economic and social levels, even the situation has been getting worse day after day, as the authoritarian mentality government has been being practiced since 30 years, even the Parliament does not have the will to play its role in solving the governmental and administrative corruption.

"PKK stands against Turkey's plan to occupy Başûr"

Ahmed said: "We know very well that the presence of PKK forces in Başûr Kurdistan does not pose a threat or fear to the security of the region. On the contrary, it protects the borders of the region."

"PKK's presence brings safety to Başûr Kurdistan"

He noted that Turkey did not help the government of Başûr, but it always sought to destroy the established regime in Başûr, and said: "When ISIS attacked Başûr Kurdistan, Turkey was supporting ISIS at that time because it wanted to eliminate what the Kurds achieved in Başûr and strike the regime via ISIS, while PKK stood by Peshmerga and defended Hewlêr, Maxmûr and Kirkuk, and sacrificed hundreds of martyrs, so the presence of PKK achieves safety for the region, not poses a threat to it."

"In his statement ... Barzani directly declares war'

On Başûr government's accusation of PKK targeting its forces and killing one of the Peshmerga members and wounding others, Ahmed said that leaders of the Peshmerga made a statement, confirming that there was no war, as it was the explosion of a mine at them.

He added that the Democratic Party wants to wage a wide war against the Guerrilla forces, and that preventing the outbreak of war was the position expressed by PKK that rejects the war. He said: "Masoud Barzani made a statement in which he said: "We prohibited war among the Kurds without fulfilling his promise because with this statement he declared the war directly."

Nariman Ahmed comments on the matter and says: "There are contradictions in the positions of Başûr government itself, as the military authorities said that there was no war, and on the other hand, the Democratic Party came out and said the opposite with the help of its media that instigated the fighting."

Ahmed confirms that this war came after Turkey declared its defeat in its war on Heftanin in Başûr Kurdistan, so it now wants to wage a wide war against PKK at the hands of the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

"No one will be victorious in this war"

Within the activities of the Kurdistan Society Freedom Movement in Başûr, Nariman Ahmed says that they have started a campaign of communication and meetings with all parties to work to stop Kurdish tensions and not to be dragged into the fraternity war.

In conclusion, the Member of the Presidential Body of the Kurdistan Society Freedom Movement, Nariman Ahmed, confirmed that no one will emerge victorious in this war, and the two sides will be defeated, calling for foreign states and parties not to interfere in the internal issues, and he said: "The Kurds can solve their issues by themselves." He called on all Kurdish political parties to take action and fulfill their role to end tensions.
