Unity guarantees fascism's defeat

The Co-Chair of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) in al-Hasakah explained that the aim of the Turkish occupation is to eliminate the Kurdish people in general and break their will. He said: "The Kurdish political parties must unite because unity is enough to defeat fascism."

For nearly two months, the Turkish occupation has been trying through all means to occupy Heftanin area and other areas in Kurdistan mountains, and through its attacks, it aims to separate these areas from Başûr Kurdistan, and expand the geographical area it occupied from the Iraqi lands and Kurdistan Region.

International silence as well as the silence of the government of Başûr Kurdistan are accompanied with the attacks of the Turkish occupation, as Turkey is violating the sovereignty of the territories of the Region.

The Region's government remained silent about these attacks that target all the gains of the Kurdish people, and no statement denouncing the Turkish aggression or calling for it to leave was made by them, while the Iraqi government's condemnation was limited to a number of timid statements.

The Co-Chair of TEV-DEM in al-Hasakah city Farhan Dawood says: "When we go back to history, we notice that the Turkish state uses various means and plots to revive the Ottoman state again in the Middle East in general and in Kurdistan in particular."

Dawood points out that the goal of the Turkish aggression is not only the elimination of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) and the Kurdistan National Liberation Movement, "but rather the elimination of the Kurdish people in general, breaking their will and exterminating them via their brutal attacks because the Kurdish Liberation Movement stands in the way of the Turkish aggression, thwarting its plans."

He added: "The Turkish state seeks to control the areas of Başûr Kurdistan to expand its occupation territory and build new military sites in Heftanin to practice its systematic policy to exterminate the peoples of the region, and to leave the Kurdish people helpless, as what happened in the Treaty of Lausanne and Sèvre in 1920."

The Co-Chair of TEV-DEM in al-Hasakah noted that they support the resistance of Heftanin by all means because the strugglers represent the will of the oppressed peoples. He said: "The Turkish occupation attacks do not target Heftanin area alone, but rather the will of the Kurds is attacked in all parts of Kurdistan, so that it is important to protect the gains of these revolutions, and defending them is very important in this crisis situation for the entire Kurdish people."

Dawood indicated that the Kurdish political parties have not agreed among themselves to put an end to the Turkish state and its systematic policy yet, and added: "The unity of the Kurdish ranks in this difficult time is very important because unity is enough to defeat fascism."

At the conclusion of his speech, the Co-Chair of TEV-DEM in al-Hasakah Farhan Dawood called on the peoples to realize the Turkish plans and resist in the face of its fascist practices that threaten everyone who belongs to the Kurdish people and their culture, and said: "By its actions, it has become a threat to all societies and countries of the Middle East, the world, and the world peace."
