​​​​​​​Greece calls on Turkey to stop stirring up controversy

Dendias stressed the necessity of conducting this dialogue within the framework of the obvious conditions imposed by international law, that is, it should take place without threat, provocation or blackmail "and without a threat of war."

He added, in press statements, that Greece is always ready for dialogue with Turkey in order to resolve the existing conflict, which is "nothing but the delineation of the continental shelf, and therefore, the exclusive economic zone."

"I reiterate, once again, to avoid misunderstanding; Greece will defend its sovereignty and its sovereign rights by all legal means available to it. The sovereignty of the European Union and its sovereign rights, and it has no choice but to do so," the minister said.

He stressed that Turkey would be wrong if it considered that through a failed attempt to achieve achievements, Greece would back down and accept illegal things against it.

On Saturday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu threatened to launch a war on Greece, which raises the current tension between the two countries to an unprecedented level.
