Libyan Army: Sirte city witnesses massive spread of Accord

On Saturday, the Libyan National Army said that the coasts opposite the cities of Sirte, Ras Lanuf and al-Buraiqa witnessed a massive spread of the Accord groups, while Major General Ahmed al-Mismari denied that the Libyan army bombed the Accord's sites, west of Sirte.

The Libyan army added in a statement that a column of about 200 military vehicles moved east of Misrata on the Mediterranean coast towards the city of Tawergha, which is about a third of the way to Sirte.

Libyan sources revealed that the army monitored that the formations affiliated with the Government of National Accord were redeploying in the area between al-Washaka and Abo Qurain, west of Sirte.

The spokesman for the Libyan army, Major General Ahmed al-Mesmari, denied on Thursday the bombing of the Accord sites west of Sirte, considering that the Accord Government's talk about the army's bombing of its "militias" aimed at covering up the demonstrations in Tripoli.

This comes as the Libyan National Army announced its support for the spontaneous popular demonstrations that have taken place since last Sunday in the capital, Tripoli, and the cities of western Libya to demand improvement of public services, the advancement of the deteriorating living situation, and to denounce the spread of corruption within the Government of National Accord.
