American scolding to so-called coalition: Why are you heading to Hasakah instead of Damascus?

According to media close to the Syrian coalition, quoting sources, the US State Department’s special envoy for Syria, Joel Rayburn, broke a pen during the discussion with members of the so-called "coalition".

According to the sources, when the "coalition" delegation asked Rayburn about the oil contracts signed by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) with an American company and criticized it, he responded by saying, "You are hostile to the SDF more than the regime," and broke a pen in his hand.

The so-called coalition’s delegation angered and excited Rayburn, saying, "This is a derailing from the goal for which the Syrians went out in the revolution."

The members of the so-called coalition tried to justify their statement that their goal is to reach Damascus, but Rayburn objected with the question, "But why are you walking in the direction of Hasakah?"

After the meeting, Rayburn denounced in a press conference what he described as "dispersing the priorities of the Syrian opposition," when they demanded to know the fate of the eastern region, the detainees, and the waters in Hasakah.

Rayburn pointed out that "it is not possible to discuss the details of the eastern region," noting that his country's government "is determined to develop the economy of the region liberated from ISIS."
