SOHR: Clashes between ISIS and government forces; contact lost with latter group

On Thursday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent clashes taking place in the axes in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor within the Syrian Badia, between Syrian government forces and groups affiliated with them on the one hand, and ISIS mercenaries on the other hand, accompanied by bombing and mutual targeting between the two sides.

According to the Syrian Observatory's sources, the area of ​​clashes witnessed a loss of contact with a group of the so-called National Defense Forces, among whom was a leader, and their fate was not known until now.

The Syrian Observatory published yesterday that a joint group of pro-government forces and the Russians went missing in the Al-Mayadeen desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to the Syrian Observatory, the members of the "Palestinian Al-Quds Brigade" and the "National Defense" forces, had gone to the Jouf area in the desert of Al-Mayadeen, today, in order to comb it out from ISIS mercenaries, before losing contact with the group's members.

In the context of this, the forces sent dozens of military vehicles, supported by equipment and elements, to search for the missing group.
