Iraq… protesters demand to hold accountable the killers, dismissal of the governor

According to Al-Arabiya Network, the protesters burned the offices of Badr Organization, the Dawa Party, and other party headquarters in al-Nasiriyah, in the meantime, an explosion caused by a motorcycle bombed Al-Haboubi Square in the center of al-Nasiriyah, Friday evening, and left behind 11 wounded in a final outcome, according to what Dhi Qar Health announced.

An Iraqi source said that the explosion resulted in burning two tents for the protesters, while ambulances rushed to the scene. In addition, Basra lived on a day of anger when Iraqi security forces clashed with protesters in Basra and fired bullets into the air to disperse them.

Security sources reported that demonstrators set fire to the parliament office in Basra, and security forces opened fire, while protesters threw petrol bombs at the building.

It is noteworthy that the protesters gathered to demand the Iraqi parliament to dismiss the governor after the killing of two activists and the injury of others in three separate attacks carried out by unknown gunmen during the past few days.

For its part, Basra police announced in a statement that it "adheres to the utmost restraint despite the demonstrators' use of Molotov cocktails and stone throwing."

In the same context, the Iraqi Security Media Cell announced, yesterday, Friday, that two people were superficially injured due to the explosion of an explosive device near a tent in al-Nasiriyah.
