The air strikes on the Libyan national base, in which there are Turkish forces, destroyed a Turkish air defense system, and killed a senior Turkish military commander and 6 other officers, in addition to injuring dozens of soldiers and officers.

On Sunday evening, the Libyan government of Accord, headed by Fayez al-Sarraj, admitted an aerial bombardment of al-Wattia base, which was controlled by Accord forces last May with Turkish military assistance.

In this context, Mustafa Bakri, a member of the Egyptian Parliament, said in a special statement to Hawar news agency ANHA, "the heavy losses of Turkey at al-Wattia base caused a shock to the Turkish president, who was in a state of delirium as soon as he heard the news."

A member of the Egyptian parliament stressed that "Erdogan's dreams will be buried in the land of Libya, which was and will remain a graveyard for invaders and greedy people."
