As part of the precautionary measures of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, airports in many countries of the world were closed, in addition to the border crossings, including the closure of the Semalka crossing between Rojava and Başûr Kurdistan, and accordingly many holders of European passports are stranded in the areas of the Autonomous Administration and are not able to travel and return to their countries until the end of the curfew.

In this regard, the administrators at the Semalka crossing stated to Hawar news agency that after the end of the curfew period, the Semalka border crossing was opened again to those stranded in Başûr Kurdistan and allowed to return to their areas, while the days of travel to Başûr were determined for European passport holders after a decision from the Khabour crossing inspection center that allowed accordingly to receive European passport holders whose names are determined by Qatari airways only.

The administrators noted that after replacing the Qatari Airway Company with Fly Erbil Company, some obstacles appeared in front of travelers to Başûr and from there to their countries, where the travel ticket is cut by passengers directly from the Fly Erbil Company, after which the company specifies the names and raises them to the Khabour crossing inspection through the Ministry of Interior for Başûr Kurdistan. According to the names sent to the Semalka crossing, the specific names are permitted to enter Başûr, and those who are not currently allowed to enter have no relationship with the Semalka crossing because they are obliged to adhere to the names sent to them from the Khabour inspection center only.
