The US State Department considered that "the militias in Libya are hindering the political process," stressing "the need to end the militia's destabilizing role in Libya."

The US State Department confirmed Washington's refusal to "all foreign interferences in Libya." It described its policy towards Libya as "active neutrality" towards the two sides.

The US officials also considered that the relations of the Libyan army and the Russian "Wagner Forces", in addition to continuing to obstruct oil production, "contradict the US and Libyan interests, undermine Libyan sovereignty and kindle the conflict."
