US ambassador to Lebanon: Billions of dollars went to "Party", rather than treasury

The US ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Chia said: "The Lebanese do not suffer from Washington's policy, but rather from decades of corruption. Washington is one of the biggest supporters of Lebanon with 750 million dollars."

In a televised interview, Chia pointed out that Washington has grave concern about "Hezbollah" in Lebanon, which it classifies as "terrorist." She added: "Hezbollah built a state within the state that drained Lebanon," and considered that "the Hezbollah state has cost the Lebanese state billions of dollars." She noted that "billions of dollars went to the state of Hezbollah, rather than the government treasury."

Chia stressed that the "Caesar Act" is not directed at the Lebanese people and the Lebanese economy.

She continued: "The Caesar Act targets only al-Assad regime and its supporters, that the intention of the Caesar Act is to dry up funding the regime that kills the Syrians."

She saw that the Lebanese demands are right, and the government should abide by the demands of October 17^th.
