Occupation caused to burn large scale areas of agricultural lands

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue to target civilians and their agricultural fields on a daily basis, which farmers spent months until they brought them to maturity, but the occupation is stealing this main source of income from them.

In the face of Turkish crimes, farmers say that the Turkish occupation will get tired of burning crops, but they will not get tired of farming.

In the village of Baghdik (to the west of GIRÊ SPî/ Tel-Abyad ),150 dunums of land were destroyed by fire as a result of the bombing of mercenary groups.

In that village inhabited by Kurds and Arabs together, ANHA correspondent met a number of residents, including Busan Qadir, who lost 50 dunums of his land.

"When the fire started, I was there, I sat next to my land and cried. It was the only source of income for my family, but nothing remained of it, the villagers tried to extinguish the fire using blankets, but the fire was getting more intense, and it also affected neighboring villages, all we ask for," says Busan Qadir. Now it is Turkey leaving our land and disposing of it, because it has nothing in us, what do you want from us? "

He added, "Before the attacks, we were reaping 200 to 400 bags of wheat from our land, which we were watering comfortably, but this year we did not harvest a single grain.  But, despite the fact that the shelling hit the surroundings of our house, and our fields were subjected to burning, we will not abandon our land and if we die, we will die on this land. "

"Providing assistance to those affected by the fires under discussion"

Last year, the sleeper cells of ISIS mercenaries caused the burning of 400,000 dunams of agricultural fields in the regions of northern and eastern Syria, and the autonomous administration provided compensation to the affected farmers, according to its capabilities at the time.

Deputy District Presidency of GIRÊ SPî Council / Tel Abyad Sabri Nabo told Hawar news agency ANHA that they have not yet had a decision on compensation for farmers, as the matter is still under discussion, noting that they are trying to help farmers, and the assistance will be provided to them according to the available capabilities.

SDF fighters help the people in extinguishing the fires

The SDF fighters have a prominent role in extinguishing the fires caused by the Turkish occupation army, as the fighters stand by the people and extinguish the fires that affect their main source of livelihood.

One of the field commanders of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Yasser Karabakh, says that the Turkish occupation targets firefighting teams that seek to extinguish fires, stressing that they are working to extinguish fires on the side of the people, but the occupation continues to fabricate them continuously.

He pointed out that the Syrian and Russian government forces witnessed the fires as they devoured the farmers' fields without doing anything.
