Death toll in New York exceeded 10,000

The region is the most affected area in the United States, although the governor stated its slowdown in New York State is confirmed.

A senior U.S. medical official said Monday that the new Coronavirus outbreak could peak in the United States this week, pointing to signs of stability across the country.

The United States, the world's third-largest population, has recorded more deaths from COVID-19 than any other country.

According to a Reuters statistics, the total number of Corona deaths in the United States was 22,000 as of Monday morning.

About 2,000 deaths have been recorded daily over the past four days, with the highest number of deaths in and around New York City.

"We're approaching a peak now," Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said in an NBC television program. You'll know you're at peak when the next day is already lower than before."

Strict restrictions on home commitment to curb the spread of the disease, which have been in place for weeks in many parts of the country, have resulted in painful economic losses.
