Small projects in Washokani camp

Displaced people in Washokani camp are resisting the difficult living and economic conditions inside the camp through simple projects to earn a living and support the rest of the camp's residents.

In light of the expansionist policies of the Turkish occupation inside the Syrian territories, the displaced people in Washokani camp are struggling to secure a livelihood by opening small stalls inside the camp.

On the suffering of the displaced people in the areas of NE, Syria in the camp, their living conditions and demands, Hawar news agency (ANHA) met with a number of simple project owners (stalls) in Washokani camp.

Salem al-Kardawy, one of the displaced people from the village of Dardara, in the district of Tal Tamr, with his family of five people living in Washokani camp. He says: “I opened the vegetable stall in the camp, with the aim of earning my living and helping my family, as well as securing the needs of the camp residents, this work benefits me financially, and for them it saves them the hardship of leaving the camp and buying their needs from abroad. "

"We in the camp all live in the same conditions. Our living conditions are difficult, so I sell vegetables at reasonable and appropriate prices," Salem added.

Salem stresses that everyone wants to return to his home as soon as he says: "We will resist whatever it was until the expulsion of the Turkish occupation and mercenaries and return to our land."

In his turn, the citizen Khalil Muhammad, who is the last of the displaced people of Serêkaniyê lives in Washokani camp with his family of 11 people.

He says: "Those who say about themselves the Syrian National Army stole my house and all its contents, and they did this everywhere they got to."

Khalil Muhammad confirmed that he, like many thousands of displaced people, wanted to return to his home.

But there is no return with the presence of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and without the intervention of international bodies and ensuring their safe return, calling for the expulsion of mercenaries and occupation.

Aid is provided only by the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria, and the Kurdish Red Crescent, in the complete absence of international organizations linked to international agendas.

This continues the Turkish occupation and mercenary groups their attacks on the regions of NE, Syria from 9^th of October last year, and the attacks led to the displacement of about 300 thousand people from the region.
