Senior official in EU: We demanded to stop escalation, end external interference in Libya

The European Union’s chief diplomat said on Tuesday that the European Union should have worked on achieving a ceasefire in Libya, calling on Turkey not to send military experts and technical teams to support the Sarraj government.

oseph Borrell, the European Union's foreign policy coordinator stated to journalists after a meeting held with the British, Italian, German and French foreign ministers, “We have called for a ceasefire, and we have also requested a halt to the escalation and an end to the external intervention that has increased in recent days.”

He continued, “It is clear that this is a sign to the Turkish decision to intervene with forces in Libya, which we reject.”
