"Turkey's support for mercenaries complicates  Idlib situation, doors  open for displaced

Idlib province is considered a hot spot for conflict between the regime forces and the Turkish-backed mercenary groups amid the Syrian regime efforts to regain control, while Turkey supports mercenary groups led by Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra).

As the regime brings in military reinforcements, fears of a grinding war that could claim thousands of civilian lives is growing. commenting on the situation in Idlib, Mohammed Khair Shekho, Co-Chairman of the Executive Council of the Civil Administration of Manbij and its countryside,  said: "The Crisis in Idlib is getting worse day by day, because of the complexity of matters by terrorist groups in Idlib, and the fact that Syrians do not sit at a dialogue table, that could protect Syria and achieve stability and to get rid of terrorism and destruction."

Sheikho stressed that solving the problems of Syria and Idlib problem, is possible, only through "dialogue is the only way to solve it."

"What is exacerbating the crisis in Idlib, is the intervention of international actors and their support for  the armed groups, notably the Turkish state led by the Justice and Development Party (JDP), which has adopted these groups in Syria, And previously supported ISIS mercenaries and it made it happy to enter through their borders," Shekho said.

"The Syrian regime's bombardment of Idlib has forced many residents of the city to flee, targeting different cities and villages in Syria," Shekho said.

"Our doors are open to receive our displaced people from Idlib city, because the crisis in Idlib has become humanitarian, especially in this harsh season, and the displaced are without shelter," he said.
