Hamo: We to demand EU parliament to deter Turkish attack

The co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration DAA of the occupied Afrin canton, Shiraz Hamo, praised the results of an international conference held on the regions of NE, Syria, and indicated that similar conferences will be held within the same framework.

The International Conference on Solidarity with NE, Syria / Rojava was held in the European Union building in the Belgian capital, Brussels, between the 11th and the 12th of December of last year.

The conference was attended by representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria, European MPs, civil society representatives, politicians and a group of journalists.

"AA favors a political solution"

After returning to al-Shahba canton, Shiraz said, "In the midst of the rapid developments taking place in the regions of northeastern Syria, and Syria in general, the diplomatic and political work has not stopped nor has the struggle of the peoples who resisted these interventions and conflicts that are managed in Syria."

Regarding the Turkish occupation of the Syrian territories, the co-chair of the Executive Council of the Democratic Autonomous Administration DAA of occupied Afrin canton said, "We have conducted many diplomatic tours to discuss the Turkish occupation, especially in Afrin and what was amazing is holding of the International Conference for Solidarity with NE, Syria / Rojava."

And Shiraz Hamo considered that the importance of the conference comes from being "held simultaneously with the continued Turkish attacks on NE, Syria, and with the escalation of tension in the entire region."

Discussing Turkey's policy in the region and condemning the Turkish attack on northeastern Syria

She added: "Of course, the strategy of the discussion was clear and explicit, and the general lines discussed Turkey's policy in the region, condemnation of the Turkish attack on northeastern Syria, its occupation of Afrin, Serêkaniyê, and Tal- Abyad, and the Turkish state's use of political Islam to consolidate its policy in the Middle East in general."

"And among the most important discussions was the process of blackmailing Europe for refugees by Europe and supporting terrorism, and Turkey's strategy in the region, and what it is doing now and its interference in the Arab world, along with legally discussions and Turkey's violations of international conventions and agreements."

Shiraz Hamo praised the conference’s output, saying: “Among them is the complete condemnation of the Turkish aggression against the region, and push Turkish state out from all the Syrian lands, the return of citizens to their homes, their homelands, the convening of a local court to hold ISIS accountable, and everyone involved in committing war crimes, and Erdogan’s accountability in relation to targeting Women".

Continued diplomatic efforts

Shiraz Hamo pointed to the continuation of diplomatic efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis and end the Turkish occupation, "a committee will be formed to follow these matters, recommendations and raise an invitation to the European Parliament to demand that it take effective measures to deter the Turkish attack on NE, Syria, and this conference will be periodic and further sessions are expected."
