Jurist: Isolation's purpose is to eliminate Kurdish issue form societal memory

Lawyer Khaled Omar, a member of the Lawyers Union in Al-Jazeera region, explained that the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan is a continuation of the conspiracy which was planned against him on October 9, 1998, and Turkey, through that conspiracy, tried to target the Kurdish people's will, strike their ambition and just cause, and erase it from Societal memory and its ultimate obliteration.

Khaled Omar pointed out that the resistance shown by the leader Ocalan, and the Kurdish people failed the conspiracy that affected him.

Khaled Omar pointed out that the isolation imposed on leader Ocalan is a violation of Turkish laws before they were a violation of international human rights laws, linked in human rights. He said: "He was captured in solitary confinement twenty years ago."

On October 21, 2019, the Turkish authorities informed the lawyer of leader Ocalan that he imposed another “disciplinary” punishment against the leader Abdullah, and three of the detainees in Imrali prison, namely (Omar Khairy Konar, Hamili Yildirim, and Weissi Aktaş). The lawyers explained that these sanctions are of a nature confidentiality, as they are ignorant of its content.

Lawyer Khaled Omar said: “We have recently heard that additional sanctions were imposed against leader Ocalan,” and he indicated that there was no such thing as secret penalties, or secret decisions, with regard to detainees in countries that considered themselves as a state of law or within which laws are applied.

Omar noted that all decisions issued and applied on the prisoners within countries that considered themselves as a state of law are done in public, and their lawyers are informed of them, and he said: "There is no within the written laws, not even in the customs followed in the courts and prisons something called secret penalties or decisions Secrecy".

He said: "Isolation as a legal term: It is the position of criminal prisoners within a solitary prison by the prison administration, or the authorities, while they violate the laws within the prison.
