Trump, 3rd American president to be tried

The US House of Representatives has decided to refer President Donald Trump to trial in the Senate on charges of abusing power.

The US House of Representatives voted by 230 votes to reject 197 votes to condemn President Trump for the abuse of power, in addition to the House vote for Trump to obstruct the work of Congress, by a majority of 229 compared to 198 members.

The vote thus led to Trump's trial next month in front of the Senate, during which members of the House of Representatives will play the role of prosecution, while the Republican Senate who have shown little interest in removing the president from office will dominate.

Trump: The parliamentary trial was not constitutional

After the decision, the US President responded to the House of Representatives decision, as Trump considered that what is happening is political suicide, and that the Parliamentary Court was not constitutional.

With this decision, Donald Trump will be three American presidents brought to court nearly 150 years ago, after both Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1998.
