Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said in his speech at the opening of the Arab-European summit in Sharm el-Sheikh that "terrorism and extremism are two threats to the whole world and the region, which must unite international efforts to confront and defeat it, confront the terrorist organizations and their financiers and supporters ".

Al-Sisi added, "the Arab and European countries have a common destiny, which requires standing united against crises, including terrorism and extremism and the approach between the two regions to solve other problems, especially the issues and crises of the region such as Libya, Syria, Yemen and the Palestinian cause."

For his part, the King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, called on a unified international position to stop "Iran's blatant interference in the affairs of other countries," stressing the need for Tehran to abide by the rules of good neighborliness.

For his part, President of the European Parliament Donald Tusk, said that Europe "is fighting the extremism and national ideas that can target our societies," stressing the need to combat terrorism.

The summit will witness the largest diplomatic presence from the Arab and European sides at the presidential level, and leaders will discuss the challenges facing the two parties, foremost of which is terrorism and illegal immigration.
