Sheikhmos: Reviving Adana agreement reflects collapse of Turkish state plans

After a meeting between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Turkish President Recep Teyyip Erdogan, Turkey, with the support of Russia, called for the revival of the 1998 agreement between the Syrian regime and the Turkish state.

In this context, and to learn about the objectives of the Turkish occupation of the revival of this agreement, Hawar news agency conducted an interview with the member of the Kurdish Leftist Party in Syria, Hamid Sheikhmos.

At the beginning of his speech, Sheikhmos said that the aim of the agreement in 1998 was to exit the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan from the region and end PKK activity in Syria, but now there is no activity for them.

He said, "But an agreement such Adana's is not new to the history of the Kurdish people because if we look at it, we will see that as the struggle of this party evolves, the occupying powers are trying to thwart their plans, but we all saw that the Adana agreement had no effect on the PKK."

He pointed out that the Turkish occupation seeks to change the demographics of the region as it did in Jarablus, Azaz, al-Bab and finally Afrin by committing massacres, killing, destruction, theft, displacement of the people of the region and the settlement of the mercenaries' families in their homes.

He explained that the Turkish occupation is also trying to revive the glory of the Ottomans, and still considers that both Aleppo and al-Mosel are parts of the Turkish territories, and always thinks in the mindset of occupation.

The member of Kurdish Leftist Party in Syria, Hamid Sheikhmos, at the end of his speech called on all political parties to stand in one rank to thwart the Turkish plans, unify their opinion, and move away from foreign agendas.
