UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said in an exclusive interview with Al-Hurra TV channel that his country stands with protecting the Kurds in Syria from the consequences of the American withdrawal.

Gargash also explained that the reopening of the UAE Embassy in Syria took place after consultations between the UAE and some allies in order to influence the course of events there.

He stressed that his country is committed to the decision of the international community not to contribute to reconstruction in Syria before achieving a political settlement. Reiterated his country's rejection of the Iranian presence in Syria.
