Ibrahim al-Qaftan: Turkey seeks to establish security zone

The talk of the co-chair of the Future Syria Party of Syria, Ibrahim al-Qaftan, came in an interview conducted by ANHA agency commenting on allegations of the Turkish government and its president Erdogan to establish a buffer zone north and east of Syria under Turkish supervision.

Where al-Qaftan in his speech noted that Turkey is seeking to occupy the region, and calls for the establishment of the buffer zone, because Turkey aims to establish a security zone occupied by it  he added that Turkey is not seeking buffer zones, but seeks security zones areas and wants to control them, as in the case of Afrin ,Jrablos , al-Bab and Azzaz and others, and seeks to collect all of its radical mercenaries and turn the areas currently stable to inflamed again under the name of the buffer zones.

Al-Qaftan said in his speech that the buffer zones of legal point of view are the formation of buffer zones in areas which witness armed fighting and armed conflict. The aim is to neutralize the people of the region from armed conflicts and wars and to protect the people of that region either by the people of that region under international supervision, or the protection of international, and is not under the supervision of the threat to the stability of the region as Turkey is today, which is the only threat to the security of the region and demands that the buffer zone under its supervision.

He attributed the frequent talk of Turkey about the buffer zones to political reasons and as the elections were about to be held, and the deterioration of the economy and attempts to export the internal crisis abroad, al-Qaftan said: "I see the reason for this failure of the Turkish government in the management of its state, and transformation from an institutional state to the state of one family, export of its internal economic crisis abroad, where we all know the volume of Turkish debt, which amounted to nearly $ 800 million, Erdogan is trying to buy time to use the pretext of threatening the Turkish national security as a card to win the election.

He added that Turkey will not succeed in implementing its dreams, and Turkey should realize that it will not stabilize unless the situation in Syria stabilizes. The Turkish government must distinguish between the buffer and security zone and stay away from what it is trying to impose on the safe and stable Syrian areas.

He concluded his meeting with certainty that the Future Syria Party does not accept the Turkish interference and occupation of Syrian territory. The party works to show the dangers of Turkish intervention in Syria and cause it to prolong the life of the crisis and put obstacles to any solution to end the crisis.
