Displaced people in Yarub camp appeal for assistance

Displaced people from areas controlled by the Syrian regime in Yarub camp, located west of the city of al-Raqqa, live in a tragic and deplorable life, in the shadow of the organizations' inaction to provide them with food, bread and water, ground is their mattress, and the sky is their cover.

The displaced people talked about their condition and pain which make them angry that they cannot return to their homes because they were destroyed by the air strikes. They do not have anything to bring home because they spent all their belongings as a result of the displacement for more than once until the train took them to the last station in al-Raqqa to taste the pain of displacement, hunger and the inaction of organizations to help them and live in tents that do not protect them from the harsh cold winter.

Sultan Shehada al-Sultan, one of the displaced, said: "We have been displaced for more than ten times in four years. Our first trip was to al-Rikban camp on the Jordan border, and we suffered a lot there. In al-Rikban camp, you cannot live there if you are not very rich. To the extent that some had sold their honor for livelihood.

Sultan said: "I left al-Rikban camp on a motorcycle and went to al-Raqqa because I hear of its safety thanks to the Syrian Democratic Forces. After my arrival in al-Raqqa, I sent for my wives and eleven children to come here but the Syrian regime have detained them in Adra prison and ask me to pay 300 thousand but I do not have the required money to release them.

"I lost my two-year-old daughter, because of the cold and hunger. When we go to the bakery, they do not give us bread because we are displaced people," he said.

"We live in tents that do not protect us from the harsh cold, and the organizations did not help us."

The displaced people of Yarub camp appealed for help to survive in the displacement camps.
