Serêkaniyê city’s stable status refutes Turkish allegations

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2011, the Turkish state has been trying by all means to target the areas of Rojava and north and east Syria. One of the areas that the Turkish state has set its eyes on is the city of Serêkaniyê

Having defeated Jabhit al-Nusra fully in the city on 07July, 2013, by great sacrifices from People’s Protection Units (YPG), Autonomous Administration institutions began to work to improve the situation of the city that has been destroyed as a result of clashes and sabotage by mercenaries.

The Turkish state did not stop its violations against the people of Rojava and the north and east of Syria, Turkey state launched indiscriminately and systematic attack in the inhabited areas in Serêkaniyê city using heavy weapons and artillery, resulted in killing farmers and they were being prevented to approach their agricultural land.

The Turkish state continues to argue that Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the People’s Protection Units pose a threat to its national security, with the aim of legitimizing its attacks and occupation of north and east Syria. However, SDF and YPG did not fire a single shot at the Turkish territory as much as the Turkish state shelled the areas of Rojava and north and east Syria with missiles, the latest of which was Afrin canton.

During a tour of Hawar news agency (ANHA) correspondents in Serêkaniyê city, they observed the atmosphere in the city, where markets movement are busy, refuting the Turkish allegations and far from what is happening on the ground.

(ANHA) correspondents met with many of the people who build, and the civil institutions of the autonomous administration service to the people, the work of the municipality spread in the city to maintain the cleanliness of the city.

Idriss Bahri, a resident of Serêkaniyê city during a meeting with correspondents of the Hawar news agency (ANHA) said that there is no change in the city and there is no displacement of the people of Serêkaniyê to other areas, the people of Serêkaniyê will not leave their lands and they do not fear Erdogan's threats."

Bahri stressed that the Turkish state is trying to target Serêkaniyê city "because it witnesses a state of peace and brotherhood among all its components."
