Soon…Kobani International Films Festival

An annual festival for film is being held in Rojava. The commune of Rojava Film is currently preparing for Kobani International Film Festival. According to the commune of film's officials, 80 films from around the world were selected out of about 600 films reached the supervisor committee.

The festival will be held at Baki Khedo Center for Culture and Art in the city of Kobani on 13 November, in conjunction with the 58th anniversary of Amuda Cinema fire. The festival will last for 7 consecutive days.

Many guests from European countries and around the world will participate in the festival. The commune of Rojava Film will later work on presenting the film presentations in the cities of Qamishlo, Serê Kanîyê, Amuda and Ain Issa.

"The concept of cinema is consolidated as a memorial to the massacre in the memory of our people, and we are seeking through this festival to commemorate the children who were martyred in Amuda Cinema fire," the administrator of the commune of Rojava Film said.

The festival also includes the opening of an exhibition of paintings and a ceremony to sign the book of the writer Hozan Noser.
