Reuters quoted Jeffrey as saying in a telephone conference to journalists that Turkish pressure on the United States to ease the supply of arms to Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and recent attacks by the Turkish army on northern Syria have basically delayed the elimination of IS positions in Syria.

Mr. Jeffrey added that the People's Protection Units(YPG) are an effective force on the ground against IS, and we have not and would not consider them a terrorist group.
