Wisi Sarisozin: Turkey cannot repeat Afrin's scenario again

After holding the 27th October summit in Istanbul and in coincidence with the arrival of the first day of November, the International Day of Solidarity with Kobanî, the Turkish state has intensified its attacks on the areas of Rojava and North and East Syria. The journalist and writer Wisi Sarisozin pointed out that the attacks come as a result of the defeat of the Turkish state in Kobanî.

Wisi pointed out at the beginning of his speech that there is a plot woven by Erdogan against the peoples of North and East Syria, and stressed that Erdogan stands against the common life in this area and tries to inflict great damage to this people.

Turkey is in a big crisis

He noted, "The Turkish state has suffered from one defeat after the other in Syria, it has not reached its goal. The Turkish state has lost the cards in its hands, it is witnessing a great crisis, living internationally isolated, the Turkish state surrenders."

He added, "The aim of Erdogan is to get out of crises with minimal losses, protect his authority and inflict great harm to the Kurdish people. And he continued, "Apart from this, the Turkish state has no directions, not near and nor afar."

The Turkish state allied with IS and now received great damage with them

He said in regard of the alliance of the Turkish state with IS, "The Turkish state has suffered from a great damage as a result of its alliance with IS, but the Turkish state blames this damage on Rojava. The Turkish state seeks to dominate the Middle East through its alliance with IS in Syria and Iraq. After the start of Rojava Revolution and the great victory achieved in al-Raqqa, IS and the Turkish state have received a harsh blow."

He pointed out that the attacks of the Turkish state on Kobanî in conjunction with the International Day of Solidarity with Kobanî come as a result of Turkey's defeat in Kobanî and its hatred of this city which defeated its mercenaries and today it seeks to revenge."

Repeating Afrin scenario is impossible and the revolution cannot be obliterated

In an important matter, Sarisozin said that there was a possibility that the Turkish state would use the mercenary gangs in Idlib, and added, "There is no doubt that these mercenaries cannot obliterate Rojava Revolution and establish an authority in this area, but there is a possibility that the aim of Erdogan's plan is to impede the building of a free life in North and East Syria, and to inflict great damage to Rojava Revolution."

Hidden diplomacy and states' swaps

"When the war was fierce in Syria, we saw everyone talking and making statements. At every step, we saw a lot of statements, and now, IS mercenaries are witnessing their last days in Syria, and now, we see a great silence in regard of the diplomatic regard. We live days in which we are witnessing hidden diplomacy, where the states conduct swaps with each other," he said.

Sarisosin responded to a question of Hawar news agency about what must be done in such situation saying, "What must be done against the hidden diplomacy is to not tie the fate to swaps, but to work to increase power, to unite the people of Rojava through the ideology of the leader Ocalan and to work against imperialism, to demonstrate against these works in all places, especially in Europe. In this way, the revolution can triumph."

These attacks against Syria are a violation of international law

Wisi Sarisozin pointed out that the attacks at the same time targeted the Syrian state which is a member of the United Nations, and said, "Rojava is a part of Syria, the Democratic Union Party aims to build equality and democracy in Syria so the Turkish state's attacks against the Syrian state which is a member of the United Nations are a violation of international rights and law, and rise to war crimes."

Sarisosin added that the Turkish state launches attack under the pretext that we are using our right in legitimate defense and it tries to legitimate its attacks under this pretext. The administration in North and East Syria and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) have protected good relations with the neighboring countries. So far, we have not seen any aggressive attack from the side of Rojava on anywhere else."

The world is still indebted to Rojava

Wisi pointed out that the Kurds did not repel anyone and did not launch attacks on anyone, but they are demanding their right to live in safety and freedom on their land. So far, thousands of fighters of the People and Women Protection Units (YPG, YPJ) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) sacrificed themselves for humanity, protected the capitals of international countries through their sacrifices against IS. The world is still indebted to Rojava."

The writer and journalist Wesi said that Rojava Revolution has a global legitimacy, adding, "This revolution must be defined in all countries of the world, and the thing which is most important is that the Kurdistan Freedom Movement which has achieved great gains. The Kurds must form a National unity, and gathers millions of people around its project that aims at achieving freedom, justice and democracy."
