177 Turkish workers, including 2 children ,10 women died in 1 month

The Turkish BIANET website said that in the first 10 months of 2018, 1,640 workers lost their lives in professional murders throughout Turkey, including 177 workers in October.

In the October report, İSİG also addressed the demands of Istanbul airport workers, whose first phase was opened on October 29, as well as doctors' demands for their rights to work and life.

Two children lose their lives

The association prepared 84% of its report based on news in local and international newspapers and 16% on the basis of information obtained from colleagues and workers' families as well as occupational safety experts, professional doctors and trade unions.

According to the report, 161 of the 177 workers who lost their lives in October

Yumi/k  were wage earners (workers and civil servants), while other workers were self-employed (farmers and shopkeepers).

Of the 177 workers, 10 were women and 151 were men; two were children, one was under 14 years of age; 14 were refugees / migrants.

According to the report, there were murders of women professionals in the sectors of agriculture, textile, construction and health care.
