Quartet-meeting, share of power by using refugees' file

The Syrian politician Mohammed al-Huwidi explained that the quartet meeting in Istanbul between Russian President Putin, Turkish Prime Minister Erdoğan, French Foreign Minister Macron and German Foreign Minister Mercel on 27 October was to determine each party's own demands and interests, not to find a solution to the Syrian crisis as they have claimed.

Al-Huwidi said "This summit will not bring any new solution, except that Russia was trying to draw a road map in Syria, ignoring the US role as the strongest player in Syria,"

On the common interests of the four countries, al-Huwidi explained: "Of course, the common interests of Turkey and Russia are the sharing of power in Syria, in addition to the refugee file, where Turkey is using the refugees' file to blackmail the West as usual, and Russia uses the refugees' file to win Western positions or the claim of the reconstruction of Syria's and the repatriation of the refugees.

Al-Huwidi added "We have to realize that the file of the city of Idlib is very complicated, and I think Turkey needs a long time to arrange its papers with the terrorists and work to get rid of some of them, as part of assassinations as usual."

He said that Turkey, which is hostile to the people of north and east Syria, failed to persuade the West during the quartet meeting to launch attacks on North Syria. And all its arguments and pretexts to mobilize political positions to strike the democratic project led by the democratic forces in the north-east of Syria did not give any result
