Women's Office at MSD condemns murder of Rasha Bassis

The Women's Office of the Syria Democratic Council (SDC) in attending representatives of all women councils and departments in the district released a statement to the world public opinion condemning the murder of Rasha Bassis in the occupied city of Jarablus by the Turkish occupation state.

The statement said:

"Women continue to stand in the face of a well-established arsenal of values, customs and traditions based on the male laws and  masculine legislations that have governed the world politically, economically and socially for many centuries, leading to further social imbalance and human injustice. In a scene no mind can bear the amount of brutality documented by the publication of video by gunmen and mercenaries, inhumane and conscientious supported by the Turkish occupation army in Jarablus city which shows the criminal Bashar Besis, killing his sister Rasha Bassis under the pretext of "washing shame."

In a scene that shows the brutality of the fans and the brutality of the brother who kills his sister lying on the ground surrendering while her brother opens fire on her to tear her body with bullets and embodies the ugliest image of masculine deviant thought and the thought of the Turkish occupation and mercenaries are doing inhumane actions against Syrian women are considerably maltreated on their occupied areas.

The pretext of "Washing shame" will remain a sword on the necks of women in a society that still sees its honor in the body of women and how many women are killed every day by this vague pretext that allows to kill the women and makes them bound by outdated customs and traditions and laws that do not recognize the right of women as full citizens. How long will these armed  gangs continue to practice its terrorism and atrocities against women from rape, kidnapping, killing and mutilation of the bodies.

We in the Women's Office of the (SDC) condemn in the strongest terms this crime "We call on the international community and humanitarian organizations to stand up to such crimes, so that women who suffer from the scourge of war are still suffering under the pressure of society's customs and traditions."
