Kurdish students learn in their mother tongue in al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood of Aleppo

In response to the demands of the residents of al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood to teach the children in their mother tongue in accordance with the principles of the democratic nation, the Training Committee for the Democratic Society (KPDC) opened in the Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood the first primary school in the name of " the martyr Kahraman", it examines the Kurdish curriculum prepared by the Training Committee of the Democratic Society.

The students are taught in the primary grade from the first to the sixth class, and since its opening, 50 students have been registered.

According to the school administration, the teaching staff numbered 14 teachers in various disciplines (mathematics, science, social, and the fundamentals of the Kurdish language).

The supervisor and teacher of the Kurdish language, Hevin Abdo, said to ANHA agency, "the turnout is still continuing by the parents to register their children, and school is considered the first experience of the Committee for Democratic Community Education in Aleppo is to teach every component of its culture rooted in its mother tongue,"

She added that education from the first to the third grade will be the Kurdish language curriculum only, and from the fourth to sixth primary school will add the two languages Arabic and English to the curriculum as sub-languages.

In her speech, she wished all students succeed in their academic year and stressed the importance of educating parents to send their children to schools to raise awareness and educate them to build a successful society.

The students expressed their happiness of the opening of the school and thanked the school administrators and teachers for their efforts to teach them.

It is noteworthy that the Training Committee for the Democratic Community in al-Sheikh Maksoud neighborhood opened the school on 7 October with opening ceremony.
