'Policy against Ocalan is piracy of international conventions'

ANHA Agency conducted two interviews with jurists Khanav Mohammed and Khalid Omar on the Turkish policy of Imrali island prison against the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Since 2011, the Turkish state has not allowed Ocalan's lawyers to meet with their client, and since April 2015, not allowing his family to visit him. A short while ago, the Turkish authorities did not allow his family to visit him under the pretext of "precautionary measures." Ocalan's lawyers also said Turkish authorities were doing this because Ocalan said in one of his interviews "any people have the right to learn their mother tongue."

In this regard, Judge Khanav Mohammed said that the policy followed against Ocalan violated the terms of the Universal Declaration of Numbers 3, 5 and 9, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights No. 7, 9, 10."

She added "These provisions provide for the protection of freedom and human rights, and are a flagrant violation of international law, a piracy operation against the Universal Declaration and the International Covenant."

In this context, she said that no country has the right to interfere in the affairs of another country in accordance with the laws of the United Nations.

She added, "Turkey continues to violate international rules and regulations number 37, 61 and 79, which state that any prisoner has the right to meet with his lawyers and family and to view the situation abroad through the media."

While the lawyer Khaled Omar said that the countries that participated in the international conspiracy, "fighting the ideology and philosophy of leader Ocalan, which would end their tyranny and the countries wanted to subject the Kurdish people to the dictatorial authorities."

He added ,"the arrest of Ocalan, a decision, violated all international norms and laws, including the decisions of the Turkish courts regarding the situation of leader Ocalan in isolation, these countries change laws according to their interests."

Khaled Omar said at the end of his speech that international organizations by their silence help the Turkish state to tighten the isolation of the leader, which proves the involvement of these organizations in breaking international laws, which must limit hostile policies against Ocalan.
